Things That Employers Notice During a Job Interview

Nervous about your job interview?

Just in case you're a newbie applicant and are scheduled to face one, you should not fret. All you have to do is remember a few things besides answering questions and all that. Recalling this is very important because apart from your answers and your resume (which are a given), these are what employers actually notice during the interview.

1. Employers always notice your hair. As you step into the room, some interviewers will first see your hair. Fixing your hair and preventing it from falling unto your forehead is a plus!

2. After noticing your face, they will shift their sights to the other end - your feet. Applicants tend to forget that since it's down below, employers will not notice it. For people who think that they can get away by wearing dirty shoes or something outrageous as flip flops to their interviews, you might as well not show up.

3. During the interview, interviewers will continue to observe you. One thing that employers complain about are the nails. Some applicants, even the male ones, tend to wear black or loud colored nail polish. Unfortunately, the corporate world is not a mall.

4. Confidence and sincerity are things that some companies look for in an applicant. Eye contact is very important in a job interview.

5. After they have checked out everything about your appearance, one thing that they notice is your way of talking - whether you talk too slow, too fast, too soft or too loud.

6. Employers can handle the occasional hand gestures but fidgeting and excessive body movements can be a total distraction.
